It's the holiday season and after the year we have had of course you should have some treats but the secret is to control the amount. How many times have we all gone to the biscuit tin and had one or two and thats turned into three or four or more. Pay attention to the amount you are eating if you are having a 'treat' make sure its a reasonably sized portion and not so huge that you feel stuffed and ill afterwards. Enjoy the treats in moderation!
Yes, it's Xmas, yes we've had a stressful year and for lots of us we will be having a drink! But don't forget to keep hydrated and remember that alcohol and foods that are high in sugar and salt will dehydrate us more..so up that water intake to compensate!
ENJOY YOURSELF AND DON'T STRESS
It's ok to have a few days off from your workout and nutrition regime. It's ok to just kick back and relax! Be kind to yourself and don't beat yourself up about those treats and more time spent at rest. This is a time to relax and recharge and you should make the most of it without feeling guilty.
Above all remember to keep moving. You don't have to be getting up at 6AM and taking part in your favourite physical activity over the Christmas week but do keep the body moving. Walk, walk and walk! A great way to spend some time with the family, get the benefits of fresh air and keep the joints and muscles mobilised.
