FOCUS ON FEELING

Fitness should be about focusing on your physical and mental health and therefore feeling good. Starving your body through not feeding it properly leaving your feeling weak and lethargic will result in dropping those inches but is not going to make you healthy and is ultimately unsustainable and detrimental to your health. Trust me I've done it and I know!

USE SCALES AND MEASUREMENTS LESS FREQUENTLY

Have you ever started a new fitness journey only to find yourself getting on those scales daily and then feeling frustrated when the results are not as instant as you would like? Daily fluctuations in water retention, monthly hormonal changes and a number of other factors will mean that your weight may well fluctuate through the week. It's much more helpful to take a weekly or bi monthly reading and so much better for your mental well being too meaning you are far more likely to stick with your new fitness lifestyle!

STRONG VS SKINNY

We've all heard this phrase by now but how many of us really take it on board....Let me put it to you this way..Do you want a body that is going to work for as long as possible? That will carry you through the rest of your life enabling you to do the things you want, enjoying your life to the full whilst feeling well and happy at the same time? Then you need to look after it! Build strong muscle, maintain joint mobility, feed it food!!! Look after your body and it will look after you.

MENTAL HEALTH

2020 has been an emotionally draining year for us all, don't pile on the pressure going into 2021 by fixating on measurements and scale readings. Instead keep moving - exercise, get outdoors and walk, make time for yourself even if its five minutes a day, look after you and the results will follow and they will be sustainable!
